New Year Lucky Bag 2026 – KanoNishodō

In Japan, welcoming the New Year with a “Fukubukuro” (lucky bag)
is a long-standing tradition symbolizing fresh beginnings and good fortune.

KanoNishodō’s 2026 New Year Lucky Bag brings together
handcrafted Kurume Kasuri clothing—
a traditional textile passed down through generations in Kurume—
and original items designed to gently accompany everyday life.

Each bag offers a once-in-a-year encounter,
revealed only when you open the box and meet the textiles inside.

Contents

  • Two pieces of Kurume Kasuri clothing (women’s size L)
  • One original cushion or one original stole

All items included have a total value of 40,000 yen or more.

The cushion is a small and easy-to-use cushion for everyday use,
suitable for decoration, placing under dolls, or providing light lumbar support.

The stole is our original “Kushu Stole,”
designed to be easily worn around the neck by simply tying the strings.

Notes

  • As this is a lucky bag, returns or exchanges are not accepted.
  • Colors and patterns are selected at random.
  • Thank you for your understanding.

Kurume Kasuri is a traditional Japanese textile that originated over 200 years ago in Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture.

What makes Kurume Kasuri unique is its highly labor-intensive process.
Before weaving begins, the threads are carefully bound by hand to resist dye, then indigo-dyed, and finally woven on traditional looms.
This method creates soft, blurred patterns that can never be perfectly replicated.

Each pattern emerges not from printing or surface decoration, but from the structure of the threads themselves.
Because of this, no two pieces are exactly the same—even when made from the same design.

Kurume Kasuri was originally created as everyday clothing for ordinary people, valued for its durability, comfort, and warmth.
Over time, it has come to represent a way of making things that respects time, craftsmanship, and daily life.

At KanoNishodō, we continue this spirit by carefully selecting Kurume Kasuri textiles and transforming them into garments meant to be worn and lived in—not merely displayed.

This New Year Lucky Bag is not just a collection of items,
but an invitation to experience a textile tradition that quietly connects past and present,
and to welcome the New Year with objects made to accompany you in everyday life.
